[Pre-Order] 2025 Spring Premium Ujeon Green Tea
KIWA is now accepting pre-orders for the 2025 fresh Ujeon tea, organically grown and hand-picked in Hadong, South Korea.
[What is Ujeon Tea?]
Ujeon (雨前) refers to tea leaves harvested before Gogu (穀雨, April 20). These early spring leaves grow slowly, absorbing rich nutrients from the soil, resulting in:
Higher amino acid content for a naturally sweet and umami-rich flavor
Lower astringency with a smooth and delicate taste
Limited harvest period, available only for a few weeks
Organic cultivation, free from pesticides or chemical fertilizers
Hand-picked leaves, carefully selected to preserve quality
[Why Hadong?]
Hadong is the birthplace of Korean tea and offers an ideal terroir for premium tea cultivation. Similar to fine wine, the environment significantly impacts the tea’s flavor and quality.
Mountain mist from Jiri Mountain slows leaf growth, enhancing complexity
Mineral-rich soil contributes to umami and depth
Significant temperature variation enhances amino acid and sugar development, increasing sweetness
Over 1,200 years of tea tradition, preserving traditional hand-crafting techniques
